Abstract
this image of the Welsh team that played Scotland on 7th February 1891 features five Swansea players. Billy Bowen at full-back did not have a good match, his tackling being poor that day. This led some comemtators to attach that fault to his play in general, which was inaccurate. Scotland dominate the match at Raeburn Place, Edinburgh and Wales showed poorly forward and back It was Swansea with three-quarter David Gwynn's final of six appearance for Wales, spanning from 1882 to 1891. Scotland won the match by 7 tries, 1 conversion and 2 drop goals to nil.
