Grogg sculpture of Mervyn Davies wearing Red Wales jersey with P.O.W. feathers on breast and white headband. Height 9" (22.86 cm). Hand painted. Engraved Mervyn Davies signature to front of base. Reverse has hand painted information: "LIMITED EDITION #8/38 CAP No8 WALES 6 SOUTH AFRICA 6 24th JANUARY 1970 CARDIFF ARMS PARK" Engraved signature by artist: Richard Hughes and "World of Groggs" motif beneath.

This limited edition hand painted Grogg was made by Grogg artist Hugh Richards in 2009 to celebrate the career of London Welsh, Swansea, Wales, Barbarians and Lion Mervyn Davies. It marks his 8th cap of 38 for Wales, which was the 6 - 6 draw against South Africa at Cardiff Arms Park on 24th January 1970. The set of 38 pieces were all sold and this one was presented to the Swansea RFC memorabilia collection by Swansea club Chairman Stephen Hughes on 23rd September 2019.
