Abstract
This is Swansea wing-forward Fred Scrine’s Wales Final Trial cap of 1900.Scrine was a model for the modern wing forward, working closely with scrum-half Dickie Owen to develop new back row tactics. He won 3 Welsh caps between 1899 and 1901. He also scored the only try of the game for Swansea against the Original All Blacks in 1905, when New Zealand won narrowly by a drop goal to a try.
